Yesterday, LinuxWorld arranged an expert session with two best industry experts - Mr Sreejith Anujan & Mr Arun Eapen .

So, today’s my blog is to share what I have learnt from the session which as an ARTH Learner

The session was on the Automation Using Ansible — Demo (Practical Implementation)

• Lead Principal Instructor, Red Hat.

• ️Also heading the designing and delivering high-quality content on integrated solutions and trusted partners across APAC, ANZ, and APJ.

• Speaker in DevConf.in 2018 where he discussed Linux Container Internals

Mr Arun Eapen:

• Director, APAC Service Delivery, GLS RedHat Asia Pacific.

• Linux and Security specialist.

• The First RHC*(RHCA, RHCSS, RHCDS, RHCVA) in all SAARC countries.

• Founding member of the Free Software Foundation India.

What is Automation?

Automation is automating tasks which reduce the work time and effort it is the application of technology, programs, processes to achieve outcomes with minimal human input. Any industry that encounters repetitive tasks can use automation, but automation is more prevalent in the industries of manufacturing, robotics, and automotives, as well as in the world of technology—in IT systems and business decision software.

Advantages of automation

Automation isn’t necessarily meant to replace people. Some of that will happen as a result of removing steps that require human interaction, but the focus and advantages are found in productivity, consistency, and efficiency.

In what ways we can use automation in a technological world? Automation can help in Configuration management, Security configuration, provisioning at many other things at a large scale.

Why scaling is needed?

Scaling is needed to meet our requirements for a large customer base, obviously, when the business grows, we need to scale our technology.

What is Red Hat Ansible Tower?

Ansible Tower is a web-based solution that makes Ansible even easier to use for IT teams of all kinds. It’s designed to be the hub for all of your automation tasks.

Tower helps you to monitor access to who can access what, even allowing the exchange of encrypted SSH passwords so that no one can see it.

We can graphically manage the Inventory and Workflow of the ansible-playbooks. It also creates the logs of all the tasks. It integrates well with LDAP and has a browsable REST API.

Also, learned How to create a separate virtual python environment in our cloud, How we can use Ansible in microservices, How to integrate slack by using Ansible tower and Ansible tower can also be used for GitOps functionality.
